With grad school Thanksgiving - Christmas break, I finally had a bit of time to do some art! I signed up for Jane LaFazio's 7-week online watercolor course. With Christmas shopping, baking, and visiting friends and family, I've only worked on the first lesson so far! However, I was able to use this lesson to make a few Christmas presents, so not all is lost! It felt good to get my creative juices flowing! I will down-load the rest
of the sessions and work on each lesson during 2015. I am also thankful I actually had time to create our Christmas card for this year, sketching the nativity and using watercolor. The theme for my picture was based on Luke 2:6-20, of the Christmas story in Bethlehem, and the angels who visited the shepherds. I combined this story with Matthew 2:1-6, of the three wise men who came to seek the newborn king of the Jews. I loved having the time to make our card this year! Art is my self care! And I really need this creative outlet! - posted 12/22/14
This Aspen Trees acrylic painting was one of my first attempts back into painting after many years of no creative activity. I spent a couple of hours working on this while I sipped wine, at a Sip and Paint class December 2013 in Lafayette, CO. It was fun & inspired me that I really still can create & want to pursue my art. - posted 5/16/14
This is the Sip & Paint class in December 2013, that my friend, Amy (on my left) invited me to. It's great having creative friends! We all painted the same Aspen Trees pictures ... but each person's painting was unique. So much FUN! - posted 5/16/14
